Happy First Day

Today is Mackinac Island's first day of school.

For me, it is also the first day of my thirtieth year of teaching. Dang, THIRTY years. (Am I old enough to have taught that long?) It really doesn't seem nearly that long. Maybe it's because I truly love what I do...

Here's to the best year ever!

Have a wonderful school year! I taught 3rd grade back in 1983, but left when my first child was born in 1987. I still treat September as the start of my year! My granddaughter started full day preschool today, her first school experience and didn't want to come home! Thank you for all you do as a teacher! Teachers are definitely under appreciated!!!!

Sending good wishes from TX! So enjoyed your presentation and sharing with us Road Scholars last week. I'm a retired elementary/middle school teacher who periodically hears from students of long years ago. It's a blessed life. Carry on with joy!

Well my 2nd grade teacher was pivotal in education and I can never thank her enough for the lessons learned from her! Happy new school year. We started back a couple weeks ago but still plan a trip north later this month...because September on the island is wonderful!
