Cat Cake

While planning the cat birthday party, I had visions of cute little cat shaped cakes, but my husband had other plans...

This part of my daughter's cat party was all his idea. Personally I thought this had to be the most disgusting looking cake ever. I was also a little worried it would make her cry. (Especially after my son got this cake on his last birthday.)

Luckily she loved it! It was my husband's brilliant idea to ask her to help him make the cake. She was thrilled to help, wanted to know exactly what the "secret" ingredients were and loved how her grandparents reacted when we brought it out. Of course, she thought it was the best birthday cake she'd ever had. Trust me when I tell you that while it may look disgusting, it tasted great!

My husband found the recipe here.

My youngest requests this every year for his birthday! We were invited to our youth pastors house for dinner. The kids insisted we bring "Kitty Litter Cake". It was a HUGE hit!

Yuck. I grew up in a home with cats, and after cleaning litter boxes for YEARS, eating this would have been WAY past my ability. Kudos to your husband, though, for creativity....

That does look pretty disgusting! LOL! But how sweet for Dad to take such a part in the party. :) I'm sure it meant a lot to your little girl.

Oh my, that really is disgusting! In my neck of the woods we have a "poo cake" complete with flies, candy corn and tissue paper...how's that for disgusting!

That is so funny! My boys would have loved that when they were younger. I'm sure it tasted a lot better than it looks. The funniest part is the tootsie roll draped over the side of the box.
Happy Saturday!
