Recent Craftiness

I kept busy this past weekend... I can't seem to find hats with large enough brims for S, so I have started making them. (He inherited my coloring so he never goes out doors without SPF 50 slathered all over him and a hat - K as well, though she got her father's coloring.) So this weekend I made the bee hat for S, the lady bug hat for K, and the three hooded towels (tutorial here) for my nephews. The first one I made without the serger (what was I thinking?), but the second two went much faster with it. Now that I have the darn serger, I just have to remember to use it...

Oh how I love lady bug fabric! Cute stuff! And I know what you mean about remembering to use what you own... My problem is finding it after I remember it! "Now where did I put that so I'd remember exactly where it was...?"

You're such a good mom. Cute hats. Thanks for the hooded blanket link.

Aw, those are sweet! Things made by mom are always much better than storebought!

I love the hats and towels. My mom just got a new serger, I should forward this to her- maybe she'll get inspired to try this for her grandkids ;)

don't you just love it when you "have" to sew those oh-so-useful projects? I have 2 very fair skinned kids that burn easily, so hats are very important in our house as well. love the hooded towels as well.

After I got my serger I went on a pillowcase kick. I love how finished they look on the inside.

o how I LOVE those hooded towels. Someday, when I have some extra time, I'm going to teach myself how to sew. My last (and I guess it was my first) experience was just not all that great!

It's great to have mom churn out necessities in any weather. I hope the sunscreen doesn't contain parabens.

Hope you don't mind....I'm going to add you to my favorites. ;)
