Mackinac Nights

I thought you might like to take a gander at the island's downtown - at night. I just love how everything looks this time of year when it is all lit up.

I took photos on the hayride and at the tree lighting on Friday night, but none of them turned out very well. Nighttime photography and corralling two excited children just don't mix. So I went out again on Saturday night, tripod in hand, and got much better results.

Christmas lights just make me smile...

It's a wonderous thing, this lighting of the darkest days. I too love the lights. Thanks for the beautiful pictures!

Beautiful! We were just starting to plan our June trip up to the island last night (I'm finally going to visit during Lilac Time--I shudder at the thought of the crowds, but it's been more than a decade since I was at Mackinac Island during the season, so we've been missing the buildings that aren't open Sept-May). I think we're going to do a sailboat tour around the island this time (fun!). Maybe in a few years we'll get up for Christmas--when our son is old enough to come with us and remember the trip. He's staying with Grandma in June. :)

Beautiful. My husband is a bah-humbug sort and refuses to put up christmas lights so I always enjoy everyone elses!

Wish I could go to the Christmas Bazaar. Feels so warm and homely. At what time in the night were these shots taken? Everyone else's keeping warm indoors I suppose. Brrr...

Do drop if you can, I'm having a giveaway.
