No Storm Here

The huge weather "event" seems to have missed those of us living in Northern Michigan. I'm not complaining mind you, Mackinac Island has gotten quite a bit of snow this year. Which, of course, we love given that snowmobiles are our main form of transportation during the winter months. I took this picture last week - the morning after our last snow fall. It looks so idyllic, doesn't it? Just a perfect, albeit incredibly cold, Mackinac day...

Glad it missed you! I'm right in the middle of the lower and we got nailed! I'm guessing at this point 12" to 14" and it's still snowing!

The lamp post in the edge of the woods makes me want to look for Edmund, Peter, Lucy and Susan coming through the trees.

Beautiful picture Liz!
We got hit pretty major...awoke to about 16 inches w/ 4-5 foot drifts everywhere. Tomorrow will be our second "snow day" for the kids, and our district NEVER closes...so you know it's pretty bad. The kids are loving it though, LOL! Stay warm! :)

Too funny that you mentioned The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Paul. There is another street light, quite close to this one, that some of us refer to as "The Lamp Post" becasue it reminds us of Narnia. I've tried to get a photo of it for years, but the sun, the light and the snow have yet to cooperate and let me get that perfect picture. But, I keep trying...

I think that photo reminds me of Narnia and I was looking for Mr. Tumnus. I'm laughing now because I looked up at the other comments and see that I'm not the only one who thought that.

Remember our little conversation about you and cards? Well, this one - you really should at the very least make it a Christmas card to send next Christmas.

Beautiful!
