Camping

Camping at Sandy Pines was a hit. Literally.

We fought (but in a good way),

and we couldn't not follow the Sandy Pines tradition of pimping our ride for Independence Day. I mean come on, if you are going to drive a golf cart all weekend, it had better look really good, right?

The fish weren't biting, but we still had a great time. Mostly due to the fact that we met a bunch of friends for the weekend and had fun just being together. Living on Mackinac Island can make doing things like this challenging at times, but it's always worth it. You can bet we'll be there again next year. Thanks Shannon for organizing everything.

Yes, my 40 year-old body is thrilled to be back in my own bed! Now that I'm home it is back to my sewing room (stuffed as it is.) I have an order of bibs, dresses, and mittens to fill...

Ugh - dh and oldest son went to Marquette this week - I do not camp! They're going to be camping at the Hiawatha Music Festival. It always sounds fun, until you get to the sleeping on the ground part, and no bathroom. I'll take the Sheraton, lol!

I REFUSE to call this camping! I have never been in a traffic jam of golf carts while camping. Camping does not include microwaves, ovens, a water park or driving golf carts! When talking about this around the kids I INSIST we call it "going to the park."

That being said, it is fun to hang out with our friends at the (trailer) park.

I don't know if I like your post or The Hubby's response better :-) Either way, sounds like a great trip!

Hey, that's totally my neck of the woods!! (I grew up very near there). Looks like you had fantastic weather, too. "The hubby" up there sounds just like mine, a camping purist for sure! In my book, if it involves fire it MUST be camping :)

I'm glad that you and your family have been having a wonderful time on your vacation with seeing family, going to the zoo in Ohio and then going camping too or as the hubby refers to it going to the park :-) It still sounds like you all had lots of fun! Happy Thursday!!

What fun family times!!! And the way your hubby described camping, that's the only way to go!! This 40+ body would not sleep on the ground anymore. :) Loved your "pimped" golf cart!
Happy sewing.....
