After leaving Grandma and Grampie's house we headed east. My children do surprisingly well during long car trips - undoubtedly having something to do with the fact that they ride in a car less than once a month. Oh yeah, and car toys; special toys that live in the car and are eagerly anticipated.
One of the highlights of visiting Uncle B and Aunt L (after seeing them and cousin K of course), would have to be the Columbus Zoo. Northern Michigan doesn't have one, so a zoo is a special treat for us.
If you're ever in Columbus be sure to stop at the zoo. There are nice interactive displays and all over the zoo there are great sculptures for the kids to climb on.
When we get home my bed is going to feel so good...

Thanks for the zoo reminder! I went as a kid and just loved it. I'll have to make it a point to get there the next time we're in Ohio.
The zoo was always a favorite place to go when my children were younger, and now for my "grands".
It made me smile when you said your children only ride in a car once a month.....it's hard to imagine! :) And it made me wonder, do you ever leave the island after it starts snowing? Just curious.....thanks, Deanna
I love all your vacation photos!!
views from behind are some of my favorites.
and we all need a navigator!
have safe travels home.
Even though we don't see their faces, the kids sure are growing. They look so much taller. It must have made for a very fun trip this year. (With them growing up and maturing more.) I'm originally from Columbus, but I bet that zoo has grown beyond how I remember it. There used to be an amuzement park across the street from the entrance. Is it still there? When they get older, the Ohio Historical Museum in Columbus and the COSI are also great attractions.
Wow, you came to Ohio! I'm glad to hear you had a great time. Hope it wasn't too warm.
That looks like a fun trip Liz - my youngest has always gotten carsick, but we cope!
That looks like a very fun zoo! I didn't know you were traveling too. I hope you have as nice of weather camping as we had when we were in Michigan... the stuff dreams are made of!
