Instead of Blogging

You may have noticed a significant decrease in my posting this summer. It's because I've been spending most of my "free" time sewing. Well that, and rereading the Twilight series.

The mittens are selling so well, I can barely keep up with the demand! (Which is a very good thing, I know.) Thank goodness there are three of us.

What will you be doing today? One guess where I'll be...

  2. Well done! Glad it has been such a success.

Those red and white mittens look very Canadian, I must say. In honour of the Bare Naked Ladies, no doubt? ;-)

  5. Hi Liz, only 2.5 more weeks until I arrive on the island! I'm so excited! Those red and white mittens are exactly what I will be looking for when I come. Any way you could have one of the stores hold them for me? I am a red-aholic and those are perfect!!! Oh...and you had mentioned to me in your email that I need to enjoy a pecan ball...where do I get that? Can't wait!!

  6. Kristin, I don't have your email address to reply, so I'll answer here...

I only made one pair of those red and white mittens, so they are probably sold already - but I can check. As for the Pecan Ball, you have several choices. They are made by the Grand Hotel so you can get them at The Grand Hotel at dinner (not at the lunch buffet), The Gate House, the Jockey Club, and The Fort Mackinac Tea Room. They are oh so good!!

  7. Love your blog and your mittens. I bought three pairs of mittens back in May when I was on the Island. Any chance you will be making the mittens in a child's size? The mittens are so fun. Cannot wait until winter to wear mine.

  8. No wonder the mittens are doing so well, Liz. how could anyone resist them? Even in 100 degree weather?

I am so glad these are such a huge success! Bravo you!

  9. Catherine, I'm so glad you like them. We are working on a child size - something for the tween age - but we haven't nailed the size yet. I'll keep you posted!
