There's not much luggage being hauled to or from the boat docks this time of year. This green cart, from the Iroquois Hotel, doesn't have much longer to wait though. The dock porters will be back on the island and working in no time at all. OK, they won't be back until May, but it hit me today that May is really only eight weeks away.)

Thanks, I needed that bit of encouragement. Since I'm pretty new to your blog, I'm looking forward to hearing about island life in the less snowy seasons.
that's a beautiful photo. what is that in the background? a house, a barn, a lighthouse?
Eight weeks is NOTHING. It will be here before you know it.
Great pic, love the story.
I'm a visitor from green week, and just had to say hello! I am a Michigan native (although I hail from the L.P.) and now live in the land of what seems to be eternal summer. I miss the snow sometimes, and the sound of the ice cracking on the lake in the spring. Wonderful photo!
Your photos are always so beautiful. You should make your own calenders and sell them!!! They are just amazing!
There is an island calendar. The photos are selected by a vote at the Winter Festival. This year I entered for the first time. I entered four photos but none of them were picked. Oh well, maybe next year...
