Whenever we are out and about, and happen to walk down by the shore S and K have to throw rocks into the lake. We could easily spend several hours, every day, just throwing rocks. You should hear K laugh when a ferry goes by; she gets that little high pitched giggle going because she knows the big waves are coming. S on the other hand is content with the "kerplunk" he gets after every throw. Last time he reminded me, "Little Sal made a kerplink, kerplank, kerplunk sound, didn't she Mama." (In Blueberries for Sal by Robert McCloskey.) I love these little moments... (I'm frustrated - Blogger is not letting me start a new paragraph - you'll have to use your imagination.)
I'm probably going to be missing until early next week. My husband managed to get us tickets to The Antiques Roadshow when they stop in Grand Rapids, Michigan, this Saturday.
Not that we have anything amazing to take with us, he just thought it would be fun and interesting. I must say I agree! So As of this moment I think we are taking (know that this is subject to change moment by moment since I can't make up my mind to save my life) my spinning wheel, some of my Great Grandma's jewelry and either my island postcard collection or an old writing desk. I'm going to try to take my camera with me, though I don't know if they allow them. I'll let you know what they say early next week. Have a great weekend!
the kids look lovely.. and the picture of them throwing stones in the water was cute :)
ReplyDeletethe post on making the bag out of the jeans was very interesting!
You have a great blog
You are so lucky to go to the Antiques Roadshow.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of my son when he was that age and he just loved throwing rocks into the water.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I would joke that he would throw the whole pebbly river bank into the river, and then he would go looking for MORE rocks.
I love Antiques Roadshow! I'm excited to hear what they say.
ReplyDeleteYour little ones are so sweet.
I think that sounds FABULOUS!!!!! I LOVE antiques and every now and then, my grandpa passes a little something on to me because he knows how I love them! My home is pretty modern with just a few pieces of the past here and there! Can't wait to hear what you found out!
ReplyDeleteoh...how nice is that! I would love to go to The Antiques Roadshow. Take a lot of picture!
ReplyDeleteLove the picture of the kids. It's amazing how kids can be so restless most of the time but when they find something they love they can do it for hours on end without getting bored.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear all about the Antiques Road Show. They came to SLC a couple years ago and there was no way I was going anywhere near it (though I love to watch the show). Just the thought of the crowd did me in.
I hope you find out that something you have is worth a boat load =0P
I love throwing rocks too.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the road show!
Yay! The Roadshow! Thats one of my favorite shows. I hope you hear something is worth a million bucks. I am excited for you. :)
