Sea gulls are everywhere on the island - to the point of being a nuisance. (They'll grab a sandwich right out of your hand if you're not careful.) But I've never seen so many of them so neatly organized before. These houses are near the dray barn where the drays of trash often wait until they are full before heading out to the dump (excuse me, the Solid Waste Handling Facility.) So my best guess is that they were waiting for a tasty morning snack. Did you notice how they are all looking in the same direction? There must be one tasty morsel over near the barn to have them all drooling in unison like that. Hmmmmm. Can birds drool? I'll have to Google it...
I had to look at the photo again to see what about it was making you laugh! At first glance the seagulls looked like some sort of fancy ornamentation that you sometimes see on those 'gingerbread cottage' type of house.
ReplyDeleteYes, they look very organised. Must be related to the seagulls in Melbourne.
The birds are a hoot like that! I know it's almost impossible to have a picnic around here too. They even lurk in the grocery store parking lot!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was a picture of your house :-) This is hilarious! Too orderly lol! They remind me of crows here, who are noisy, daring and they grab/want human food too!
ReplyDeleteGreat picture!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting on my blog. I really enjoy yours.
ReplyDeleteOh, good grief! Look at all of them!! That is too funny. That makes a good point for carrying a camera all of the time. Great picture.
ReplyDeleteSO FUNNY!!! Thanks for the laugh! I needed it!
ReplyDeleteIt's early and at first I didn't even see the birds. How funny! I'm glad you had your camera with so you could share this.
ReplyDeletethat's funny! impressive that you would have your camera with you when you are out doing your grocery shopping that early in the morning with 2 kids!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh how funny, I absolutely love that picture of the birds. Silly creatures.
ReplyDeleteThere is a house down the street from me that quite frequently is covered in little dark birds (Starlings maybe?) and I mean covered. I will have to remember to take my camera with me sometime and take pictures. It's always the same house, wonder what they have that nobody else does (Other than a roof covered in poop that is LOL)
