So here I am in all my glory on Dress Like You're From Another Country Day at school. The Egyptian Galabeya won over the sari and the kimono due to the comfort factor. Except for the head scarf (which I had on all wrong but didn't feel like pinning in place,) it was like wearing my jammies all day.
I bought the galabeya and hijab (head scarf) on my trip to Egypt last spring. I kind of have this thing about clothing from other places; I try to pick some traditional clothing up where ever I go. I still can't believe that I get to go back to Egypt again in about three weeks. Three weeks! More on that soon...

You look mah-velous, dah-ling! Love the embroidery on that. And you get to go to Egypt AGAIN?????? *swoon*
ReplyDeleteI'd send you traditional Hungarian clothing, but that's really just lowrise jeans and nylons:) Not missing anything here!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome outfit! I love all the colors! And you will going to Egypt again and get to see your folks soon - how fun!!
ReplyDeleteVery lovely! How many countries were represented in all?
ReplyDeleteWearing a headscarf is an acquired art, I think. Whenever I attend or visit an Orthodox Church I always make sure to cover my head....and am often not sure exactly how best to do it! I'm obviously not from a tradition in which one learns this sort of a thing!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! How are you getting the opportunity to go again?!
ReplyDeleteYou look great! Love the bright colors and all the embroidery detail.
ReplyDeletethe perfect outfit...so glad you're getting to go back and see your mom. take lots of pictures.

Random trivia about me: I used to wear a sari regularly, when I was pretty young, and living on a farm with a whole bunch of hippies. my mom believes they are the most practical garment ever to do chores in. Sorry, mom, I beg to differ! lol
ReplyDeleteI can't see your whole picture! It cuts off somewhere just below the shoulders..boo.
I can't wait to see your trip pictures! I've never been anywhere that exotic really, for all my travelling..very jealous, lol!
