When my son was born my friend from Japan sent him the cutest little smock. I loved the style but the oatmeal-color fabric wasn't my favorite. So I took it apart, used the pieces as a pattern, and made a new one. I love how it turned out. I'm going to have to make a few more of these because this one is heading off to a friend of mine who just had her second baby on Monday afternoon.
Cute! What little boy wouldn't love those lizards?!
ReplyDeleteAdorable!
ReplyDeleteGreat job. i did that with a dress once. It had the most hideous floral print, but the style was very flattering, so i got out my seam ripper and went to town. I will have to post a picture of it.
ReplyDeleteOh, that is adorable! What a thoughtful gift!
ReplyDeleteVery cute! It looks super soft, too.
ReplyDeleteWelcome home Liz. I just wanted to tell you that I have enjoyed your Cairo posts so much - in fact, I have created a separate bookmark folder for the set of 7 so I can enjoy them again and again. You have given us a glimpse into a culture most of us know nothing about and I can see we are missing so much. Thank you for your heartfelt sharing and the gorgeous photos.
ReplyDeleteVery cute apron
ReplyDeleteGreat smock, great fabric. Glad you enjoyed Egypt - looked like you had a ball.
ReplyDeleteI spent six years in Southeast Asia (69-75) and house geckos were my constant companions. I went to sleep listening to them nearly every night. Your beautiful vest reminded me of one of the things I miss about that part of the world.
ReplyDeleteadorable...love those lizards.
ReplyDeleteLove this so much!
