Green: Day Five

I love this house. I can't imagine maintaining it or how much it must cost to paint it, but I love it. There's just something romantic about a turret on a house, don't you think? Like some secret love story unfolded behind those stained glass windows. And despite the fact that they are long since gone, the couple lives on, eternally young, sitting in that room within the frame of an old sepia photograph. Usually I end up imaging a photograph of my grandparents when they were in their 20s. Hokey, I know...

I'm not in school today; instead my husband and I are off to the eye doctor and podiatrist. When you live on an island one appointment usually requires an entire day off, given the time required to get on and off the island and then drive to and from the doctor's office. So, whenever possible, we try to schedule multiple appointments on the same day. Today's schedule includes ice crossing, four appointments, grocery shopping, and a lunch date.

Enjoy your weekend. I plan to get busy in my craft room. How about you?

  1. Thanks for stopping by. I love turrets. I dream of life on an Island. I would love to live in a lighthouse. I think they are romantic. Great Job on Green week btw. I attempted to participate. But only got one photo, life got busy. haha. My first color week and I failed. Oh well. I like your blog. I especially liked the tutorial on the christmas card oranments. I will be back. Good luck with all of your appointments today. :)

  3. That turret is beautiful, it makes me think of a castle in a fairytale. I'm somewhat new to your blog so I'm just wondering, how long have you lived on this island? It sounds quite different!

  4. When I was a young girl, I wanted a tower/turret bedroom. I never imagined stained glass windows in it, but that would have been a plus.

  7. Green trim turrets - how lovely.

I plan on doing some crafting as well this week-end! Scrapping and knitting, of course.

Hope the appointments went well. We do the same thing when we go down to the bigger cities - cover all the needed appointments and shopping, etc.
